There are several reasons for your dishwasher’s cleaning performance to suffer. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.
See if the spray arm holes are dirty or clogged
Your dishwasher’s spray arms have holes in them to release water into the tub. If these holes are clogged, enough water may not be released into the tub. In this case, the detergent inside the dispenser won’t dissolve completely and dishes won’t be rinsed properly.
Check the spray arm holes to see if they’re clogged. Remove and clean them regularly or when they’re clogged.
To clean the upper spray arm, turn the nut counterclockwise and remove both the nut and the spray arm. Remove the lower spray arm by pulling it upward. Wash the spray arms under the tap. Use a brush to unclog their holes.
Make sure the nut is tightened well when re-installing the upper arm. Put the lower spray arm back in position and push down until you hear a click.
Make sure the appliance is loaded properly
You may be loading your dishes incorrectly or overloading your dishwasher. Make sure all your dishes are tilted properly and that they’re not touching each other or the moving parts of the dishwasher.
If you don’t load your dishwasher properly, light plastic cups or glassware may move around and turn over, filling with wash water. Dishes might obstruct the opening of the dispenser lid or the turning of spray arms.
Give the spray arms a spin after finishing loading to make sure they can move freely. See our guide on how to load a dishwasher for more information.
Make sure the selected program is appropriate
The washing program you selected might not be suitable for the type of dishes you want to clean. For heavily soiled dishes, select a program with a higher temperature and a longer cycle.
See if the filter is dirty or clogged
Your dishwasher has a drain filter which requires cleaning. Remove your dishwasher’s drain filter and check for food debris build-up.
Pull the bottom rack out of your dishwasher to reach the drain filter. Remove the filter from the bottom of the appliance and wash it under the tap. Repeat this process regularly for proper water drainage and to prevent bad odors.
Take advantage of EverClean Filter
Many Beko dishwashers come with the EverClean Filter feature. This feature uses a special sprinkler system that cleans the drain filter from the inside. Thanks to the EverClean Filter, your Beko dishwasher will require four times less filter cleaning.
Make sure to scrape off the food remains on dishes
Caked and dried on food remains might not be cleaned off in the dishwasher. Such food debris might also clog the filter and the drain hose. Remove food scraps by hand before loading your dishes.
Check the detergent dispenser for moisture
If the detergent dispenser is wet when you add the detergent, the detergent won’t be released fully into the tub. This can lead to dishes not being cleaned properly. Dry the detergent compartment before filling it.
Check the detergent for moisture
Damp detergent will stick to the dispenser and won’t be released fully into the tub. This can lead to dishes not being cleaned properly. Keep your dishwasher detergent in a closed container, free of humidity and away from excessive temperatures.
Avoid using inappropriate detergent or other products
Be sure to use detergents, rinse aid and salt which are specifically for dishwashers. Don’t use dish washing liquid, hand soap, bleach, vinegar or any other chemicals under any circumstances as these products reduce your dishwasher’s performance, cause metal pieces to rust, and may even shorten the lifespan of your appliance.
Avoid using too little or too much detergent
If you’re using powder detergent, adjust the amount according to the program requirements and how heavily soiled your dishes are. Always take the level markings into account, and don’t exceed them.
Make sure the detergent dispenser lid is closed properly
If the dispenser lid is left open before your appliance starts a cycle, detergent will be released too early and your dishes won’t be cleaned properly. Make sure that the detergent dispenser lid is closed tightly after adding detergent.
Consider technical problems
If the problem continues, there might be a problem with your dishwasher’s heating element or thermostat. If you suspect this to be the case, contact an authorized service agent.
