How to fix a tumble dryer that stops mid-cycle

How to fix a tumble dryer that stops mid-cycle

There are several reasons for your tumble dryer to stop partway through a program. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.

See if the water tank is full

If your tumble dryer isn’t plumbed in, it will have a water tank where it stores the water removed from wet laundry. This tank should be emptied after each drying cycle.

If you do not empty the water tank, your tumble dryer may stop during the next drying cycle because the tank is full. If this happens, you’ll need to pull out the water tank and empty it before the tumble dryer resumes operation.

To empty the water tank, pull it out of its housing at the top left of the appliance. Pour the water out. If there’s lint in the tank, clean it under the tap with warm water.

Check the drive belt for damage

Open the door and try turning the drum with your hand. If it turns with no resistance at all, your appliance’s drive belt may be damaged or broken. In this case, please contact an authorized service agent.

Consider electrical failure

Your tumble dryer may have stopped due to an electrical spike or a malfunction. Try unplugging your appliance. Wait for a minute and then plug it back in. Try running a program again.

Consider technical problems

If all else fails, your tumble dryer might have a technical problem. If you suspect this to be the case, contact an Authorized Service Agent.
