How to fix a dishwasher that won’t drain?

There are several reasons for your dishwasher not to drain. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.

See if the filter is dirty or clogged

Your dishwasher has a drain filter which requires cleaning. Remove your dishwasher’s drain filter and check for food debris build-up.

Pull the bottom rack out of your dishwasher to reach the drain filter. Remove the filter from the bottom of the appliance and wash it under the tap. Repeat this process once a week for proper water drainage and to prevent bad odours.

Take advantage of EverClean™ Filter

Many Beko dishwashers come with the EverClean™ Filter feature. This feature uses a special sprinkler system that cleans the drain filter from the inside. Thanks to the EverClean™ Filter, your Beko dishwasher will require four times less filter cleaning.

Make sure the drain hose is installed properly

If your appliance cannot drain itself, it won’t take in water. Check the position of the drain hose connected to your dishwasher. Make sure that it’s connected to the waste outlet at least 50cm and at most 100cm above the ground.

See if the drain hose is bent or clogged

The drain hose can be directly connected to a waste outlet or the sink’s drainage. If these drains are blocked, water won’t be drained from the appliance.

Try pouring some water through the drain to check whether the pipes are clogged. To unclog the drain, you can use a plunger or drain unblocking products. If the blockage persists, seek the help of a qualified plumber.

Check the appliance’s balance

Your dishwasher needs to stand level and balanced on its feet to function properly. Try rocking the appliance from side to side or back and forth. IIf it is wobbling too much, your flooring or the appliance's feet may be uneven.

Use a spirit level to check the appliance's balance. If it's off, adjust the feet by reaching under the appliance and finding the lock nuts on the feet. Turn the feet clockwise or anti-clockwise, until they are firmly in contact with the floor. Tighten all lock nuts again by hand.

Consider technical problems

If the problem continues, your dishwasher may have a technical problem. If you suspect that to be the case, contact an authorised service agent.
