Beko joins forces
with Water.org
So, as a brand working for a healthy planet, it was inevitable for us to become a partner in this project.
Because we have been focusing on healthy living for years, raising awareness and developing products that make healthy living possible and convenient. Our brand mission is ‘healthy living is only possible on a healthy planet’.
Through our partnership…
We will support Water.org to help scale and promote solutions to enable access to safe water in urban slums and rural areas without reliable water sources.
Also, the programme will include the development of learning materials and activities to empower communities with affordable access to loans so they can install wells, water storage tanks, filters, rainwater harvesting systems and sanitation solutions.
As Beko, we will continue to work for a healthier world and establish new partnerships.
We proudly announce our newest partnership with Water.org to support a community programme that will empower 10,000 Kenyans in need with access to safe water or sanitation solutions.
Water.org is an international non-profit organization that has positively transformed more than 51 million lives worldwide with access to safe water or sanitation—founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, Water.org pioneers market-driven financial solutions to the global water crisis. For 30 years, they’ve provided women hope, children health and families a bright future.
According to Water.org, 15 percent of Kenyans, of 53 million people, rely on unimproved water sources such as ponds, shallow wells, and rivers, while 41 percent of Kenyans lack access to basic sanitation solutions.
Further, the water crisis is personal for women in Kenya who are primarily responsible for household water collection. These women risk their health and well-being to collect water. In addition, they walk many kilometres to reach safe water, sometimes with a baby strapped to her back and also facing many dangers on the way.
The United Nations Children's Fund, or UNICEF, has been fighting for children’s rights and health for over 70 years. We teamed up with them as part of our Eat Like A Pro campaign in 2018.
The partnership produced immediate results, when we raised a staggering 1,000,000 Euros in 11 days for the fund, thanks to an overwhelming support from fans on social media across the globe.
The UNICEF Donation campaign was officially launched between Beko and UNICEF on April 30th, 2018 as part of the Eat Like A Pro campaign. Every post shared across Twitter or Instagram using #EatLikeAPro triggered a 1 Euro donation to UNICEF.
With over one million posts within the first 11 days, over 500,000 families are currently benefiting from better access to healthier food and a more balanced diet.
Fenerbahçe Beko Men's Basketball Team legendary coach Željko Obradović has fully embraced the Eat Like a Pro initiative.
Obradović believes that Eat Like a Pro is a “huge responsibility” and pledges that his players “will be role models with their eating habits for the future generations.”
The Fenerbahçe Beko Men's Basketball Team made 5 straight Final Fours and 3 of the last 4 Finals of Euroleague Basketball. This success was forged with a focus on attracting the best youth playing in Europe and developing a culture of fitness, health and dedication to constant self-betterment.
It all aligned perfectly with the values that we strive for. As of 2019, Beko is Fenerbahçe Men’s Basketball Team’s primary sponsor, with our logo emblazoned across their chest as part of the naming partnership.
