Cauliflower Manchurian (also known as Gobi Manchurian) is a popular Indo-Chinese dish. Crispy cauliflower florets, tossed in a spicy, sweet, tangy, and umami-rich Manchurian sauce, served as an appetiser or side dish. It can be served in both dry and gravy versions. Ingredients:
- 250 g cauliflower florets
- 150 g whole wheat flour
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 80 ml mineral water
- 1 clove of garlic, dice
- 1 medium dice piece ginger, dice
- ½ red chili pepper, dice
- 75 ml low sodium soy sauce
- 15 ml rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp scallions
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Step by Step:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
2. Make a batter with flour, corn-starch, paprika, salt, and mineral water. Coat the
florets with batter and place them on skewers, roast them in the oven until golden
brown.
3. Saute the garlic, ginger, and chilli. Then add the soy sauce, vinegar and brown sugar
then reduce until it thickens.
4. In two serving plates, place cauliflower skewers and brush the sauce on top.
Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped scallions, and serve it. Enjoy!
