Hood

FAQ's

If your hood is connected to a vent, it doesn’t need a carbon filter. Hoods vented externally rather use a metallic grease filter. If you have a hood without a vent connection, it most likely uses a carbon filter.

To find out for sure whether your hood uses a carbon filter or not, consult your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

If you have a hood without a vent connection, it most likely uses a carbon filter. Carbon filters are disposable and need replacing from time to time. It’s recommended that carbon filters be replaced every 6 months. If you cook a lot or do a lot of frying, you may need to change your carbon filter every 3 to 4 months.

Follow the instructions in your user manual on how to remove and replace your hood’s carbon filter. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

Your hood needs to be installed at a certain height over the cooktop. This distance varies depending on your hood’s extraction rate, and the size of your kitchen and cooktop. The recommended distance between the cooktop surface and the lowest part of the hood is 50 cm for electric cooktops and 65 cm for gas or dual fuel cooktops. If your hood is installed any higher than this, it may not be able to extract grease, steam and smoke thrown up by your cooktop effectively.

For more information on how to install your appliance, consult your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

Before replacing your hood’s light bulbs, make sure that the product is disconnected from the mains. If the bulb is hot, wait for it to cool down.

To remove the bulb, push the housing and turn it clockwise, then remove it by turning it anti-clockwise. Insert the new bulb by turning it in clockwise.

The position of the light bulb varies depending on model. Your hood’s user manual will help you locate and replace the light bulbs. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number. Replace the old light bulb with the same type specified in the manual.

Every Beko hood has a unique serial number. It’s located behind the metallic grease filter.
