There are several reasons for your tumble dryer to not start. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.
Check for power failure
If the display doesn’t light up even though your dryer is plugged in, you may have a power failure. Check the lights and other electrical appliances in your home to see whether a power failure has occurred.
If other electrical appliances are working, there may be a problem with the fuse your tumble dryer is connected to. In this case, seek the help of a qualified electrician.
Check that the door is closed properly
If your tumble dryer detects that the door is open, it won’t start. Make sure that the door is firmly closed. Remove items that may be caught in the door, and push it closed until you hear a locking sound.
Make sure child lock is not activated
You can’t make any changes to programmes, temperature, speed or additional functions while the child lock is active. The lock is active when the child lock warning indicator on your tumble dryer’s screen or panel is on.
To deactivate the child lock, press the sound notification/buzzer button and the start/pause/cancel/end duration button simultaneously for three seconds while any programme is running. The lights on the buttons will flash while you do so.
You can also switch the programme selection knob to the On/Off position while no programme is running to deactivate the lock.
The procedure to activate/deactivate the child lock may vary depending on your model. If the procedures described above do not work, consult your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.
Consider technical problems
If your it's still not starting a programme, your tumble dryer might have a technical problem. If you suspect this to be the case, contact an authorised service agent.
