Tumble Dryer

FAQ's

Every clothes dryer has a lint filter that needs cleaning after every drying cycle.

Depending on the model of your appliance, it will have an additional filter called the filter drawer (heat pump dryers) or the condenser (condenser tumble dryers).  These filters need to be cleaned periodically or when the filter drawer cleaning warning symbol lights up (if available).

For more laundry tips, read our guide on how to clean your tumble dryer and its filters.

When the door isn’t sealed properly, your tumble dryer may leak water. To prevent this, check the inner surfaces of the door and clean any lint that has accumulated on the seals. You can wipe the seals with a soft damp cloth.

It’s normal for heat pump tumble dryers to make a metallic vibration noise. The pump compressor makes a metallic sound while functioning. This isn’t a malfunction.

If you hear more of a scraping sound, check the drum for foreign objects and remove them.

If your appliance isn’t operating normally while making this noise, contact an authorised service agent.

If your appliance is new or hasn’t been used in a while, it’s normal to hear a rumbling noise for a few minutes.

If the sound is loud and continuous, the rollers that help turn the drum may be worn out. If you suspect this to be the case or if the appliance isn’t operating normally while making this noise, contact an authorised service agent.
