The detergent dispenser releases detergent into the dishwasher tub during the wash cycle. If you see detergent remains after your appliance has finished a cycle, your dishes may not have been cleaned properly. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.
Check the detergent dispenser for moisture
The detergent dispenser might have been wet when you added the detergent. Dry the compartment before filling it.
Check the detergent for moisture
The detergent itself might have been damp. Keep your dishwasher detergent in a closed container, free of humidity and away from excessive temperatures.
Avoid loading detergent too early
If you load detergent or a tablet long before you start the wash cycle, it may clump or stick to the dispenser. Put the detergent into the detergent dispenser just before starting a wash cycle.
Make sure the dispenser lid is not restricted from opening
The dispenser lid opens and releases the detergent during the wash cycle. If the dishes you’ve loaded are preventing it from opening completely, some detergent may get trapped inside the dispenser. Place the dishes in a way that won’t prevent the lid from opening.
If you’re using a tablet detergent that’s too large for the dispenser, the lid may get stuck as well. Only use tablet detergents that fit your dishwasher’s detergent dispenser.
See if the spray arm holes are dirty or clogged
Your dishwasher’s spray arms have holes in them to release water into the tub. If these holes are clogged, enough water may not be released into the tub. In this case, the detergent inside the dispenser won’t dissolve completely and dishes won’t be rinsed properly.
Check the spray arm holes to see if they’re clogged. Remove and clean them regularly or when they’re clogged.
To clean the upper spray arm, turn the nut anti-clockwise and remove both the nut and the spray arm. Remove the lower spray arm by pulling it upward. Wash the spray arms under the tap. Use a brush to unclog their holes.
Make sure the nut is tightened well when re-installing the upper arm. Put the lower spray arm back in position and push down until you hear a click.
