How to Install an Inline Water Filter for a Refrigerator

Installing an inline water filter ensures that the water supply to your fridge is clean and

filtered. Follow these steps for a successful installation:

Step 1: Unplug Your Fridge

Before starting the installation process, always ensure your refrigerator is unplugged from

the electrical socket. This is a crucial safety measure to avoid any electrical hazards while

working with water connections.

Step 2: Gather the Materials

All the materials required for the connection should be supplied with the water filter.

Ensure you have everything before starting, including hoses, connectors, clips, and filter

holders.

Step3: Install a 1/2" Valve Connector

A standard 1/2" valve connector must be installed to the cold water mains. If this is not

available, consult a qualified plumber to install it for you.

Step 4: Disconnect the Hose from the Water Valve

At the back of your fridge, remove the connector on the hose nozzle of the water valve.

Pass the hose through the connector and then connect the hose tightly to the nozzle.

Step 5: Tighten the Connector

Once the hose is connected to the nozzle, tighten the connector by hand, or use a pipe

wrench or pliers for a more secure fit.

Step 6: Insert the Hose into the Filter

Next, insert the hose into the filter’s inlet and outlet. Be sure to check the arrow signs on

the filter that indicate the correct direction of water flow (from tap to fridge). This ensures

proper filtration.

Step 7: Connect the Hose to the Tap Adaptor

Remove the connector from the tap adaptor and pass the hose through the

connector. Connect the hose tightly to the tap that is inserted into the filter’s inlet side,

and tighten the connector by hand to secure it.

Step 8: Fix the Water Hose and Filter

Use the provided clips to secure the water hose and filter holders to fix the filter to the

wall
. Ensure the filter is fixed in an upright position for proper operation. Do not fix the

filter or filter holders to the fridge itself
.

Step 9: Final Check

Once everything is securely connected, check that the filter and hoses are in the correct

positions and there are no leaks.

By following these steps, your inline water filter will be installed correctly, ensuring clean,

filtered water flows to your fridge.
