How to use a washing machine?

Using a washing machine effectively can save time, protect your clothes, and ensure

optimal washing results. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you use your Beko washing

machine efficiently:

1. Balance the Load

It is important to balance the load in the washing machine to avoid excessive movement

and noise.

Avoid washing a single large item, like a bathrobe or towel, by itself as it will

absorb too much water and create imbalance.

Solution: Add smaller items to the load to ensure even distribution and better

results.

2. Check Pockets Before Washing

Always check your clothes' pockets for objects such as coins, hair clips, or tissues before

loading them.

● These small items can cause drainage issues, mid-cycle stopping, and excess

noise during the wash.

3. Turn Clothes Inside Out (Especially with Zippers)

For clothes with zippers or metal buttons, turn them inside out before placing them in the

machine.

● This will help minimize noise during the cycle and also preserve the color of your

clothes, preventing wear and tear on the outer fabric.

4. Avoid Overloading the Machine

Do not overload the washing machine as this can cause problems like:

● The door not closing properly, which may result in water leakage.

● Strange sounds during operation and potential damage to the machine.

Solution: Remove a few items if the machine seems too full and ensure that no

items are stuck between the door and the rubber gasket.

5. Use the Detergent Drawer Correctly

Add detergent and softener to their respective compartments in the detergent drawer.

● If you are using a prewash cycle, add detergent to the prewash compartment as

well.

6. Measure Detergent Properly

Using the right amount of detergent is crucial for optimal washing performance.

● Too much detergent will cause excessive bubbling, leading to poor rinsing results.

Solution: Follow the detergent manufacturer’s recommendations for dosage based

on load size and fabric type.

7. Store Detergent Correctly

Store your detergent in a closed box in a dry environment to maintain its effectiveness.

Humidity can reduce its cleaning power.

8. Choose the Right Program

Each fabric type has a recommended program and load capacity.

● For synthetics, use up to 50% of the machine’s capacity.

● For wool, use 25% of the machine’s capacity to avoid damaging delicate

fabrics.

9. Start or Change a Program

To start a program:

Turn the program knob to the desired setting and press the start button.

If you need to change or cancel the program mid-cycle, the method may vary by

model. Refer to your user manual for specific instructions.

10. Use the Child Lock Feature

For safety, you can activate the child lock feature:

Press and hold the child lock button(s) for 3 seconds to enable or disable it.

● When the lock is active, all buttons on the panel will be disabled, preventing

accidental changes during the wash cycle.

11. Use the Delay Start Feature

You can delay the start of the washing cycle:

● After selecting the program, press the time delay button to set a start time for the

machine.

● The washing machine will not take water or begin the cycle until the delay time you

have set.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure your Beko washing machine operates efficiently,

resulting in clean clothes without any hassle.
